I'm sure this will offend many gay men who consider themselves liberated, but this is not about them it's about visiting other countries with other cultures different from yours and it's your choice to go there or not but, in the end, YOU are the visitor not them. If you behave in a manner which will not bring attention upon you, most people will not only not ask about you being gay but, frankly, won't care. In the Arab and Turkish world, the concepts of "homosexuality" and "sex between men" are not necessarily the same. That said, in most countries in the Middle East (and in Turkey)- sex among men is quite common, without the "stigma" of marking the two men gay. Like most "non-Western" countries (including east of the Oder) in Europe and the Middle East, homosexuality is either an ignored, negatively talked about, or hostile subject matter.
